Ideas
Ideas is one pass over everything you have catalogued. Tap Suggest improvements and Placeful reads your whole inventory: every item, its place, its estimated value, and the answers you have already given about it. Back come specific suggestions in plain words: duplicates to merge, things in the wrong room, items that belong together, a container worth adding, and questions about things you might let go of.

Where the ideas come from
Section titled “Where the ideas come from”The pass works with methods from well-known organizers, and an idea that follows one names it on the card:
- Marie Kondo’s joy check. You already answer “does it spark joy” on your items. Ideas only questions the ones you marked no, and letting go is framed her way: kept, or thanked and released.
- Dana K. White’s container question. A drawer’s size is the limit on what it can hold. When a place is overfull, the question is what deserves the space; whatever is left over is the answer.
- The Minimalists’ 20/20 rule. A just-in-case item you could replace for about twenty dollars in twenty minutes is safe to let go.
- Margareta Magnusson’s Swedish death cleaning. Heirlooms and keepsakes get curated and homed well, so they are a gift to whoever inherits them. Items you mark protected are never questioned.
- Julie Morgenstern’s zones. Things used for one activity live together in one place.
No method is forced onto an idea. A suggestion that fits none of them simply carries no name.
What a run does
Section titled “What a run does”A run replaces the previous open ideas with fresh ones. Everything you have already judged stays judged: saved ideas are kept, dismissed ones will not come back reworded, and done ones stay done. The pass gets sharper as your inventory grows; with only a few items it may honestly have nothing to say.
The three marks
Section titled “The three marks”- Bookmark saves an idea across runs. The filter above the cards switches between all ideas and saved ones.
- Checkmark marks it done.
- Dismiss clears it. Dismissing is a real answer, and later runs respect it.
Any card can be shared as plain text when one is worth sending to someone.
What the pass sends
Section titled “What the pass sends”A model (OpenAI) does the reading, only when you run the pass. It sees item names and fields. Photos stay out of it. How Placeful uses your data covers the full picture.
